So,I do a lot of flat ironing on my clients and I have the red fingers to prove it. I was really excited with I saw this glove. Excited that is until I bought it. This glove is no more heat resistant than the man in the moon. While my fingers are not burning as bad, they still are getting burned.
The glove is very thin and it actually started burning itself. I'm not using it on a marcel flat iron just a electric Babyliss Titanium Nano. I'm really disappointed :(.

It took multiple swipes down each small section of hair to get it straight and it still wasn't very smooth. Not at all what I was hoping for. The rubber or silicone strip that runs down the side of one of the plates grips your hair making it hard to slide it through your hair smoothly. The only part of the straightener that I liked was the packaging. It was so easy to put it back in the box after I decided it was going back.

When I went back to Ulta I told them I needed a straightening iron with Chi quality and Zoe price. They immediantly pointed to this one. I used it the first time and wow is all I can say! I love this flat iron and would highly reccomend it! Heats up great, has a locking mechanism so my hand won't change the temp and its cute! LOL. I have very coarse, thick blonde hair and this iron makes it soft and super managable! And at Ulta it is $59.99 and I used a 20% off coupon!!!

(More customer reviews)I do not have super curly hair but my hair is curly and especially at the ends hard to get straight with this straighter though the ends of my hair are even straight. This straighter from bed head was on my Christmas list and Santa was amazing and got it for me. I love it!!! Its sleek design makes it easy to hold and it looks supper cute even when it's just sitting on the counter. It reduces frizz, adds shine and gives me picture perfect straight hair. The cord is kind of rubbery so it does not easily become tangled or get all bunched up. It keeps my hair straight for hours on end even on the most humid days. It is well worth the price. I have had my hair straightened many times with a Chi and this straighter by Bed Head does just as well if not better, also it's not as expensive. If you don't feel like waiting for it to ship to you it is also available at Target. Get it, you won't regret it.

The CHI won, but I got nervous about the quality over the long term after reading several reviews (most said great iron, but breaks in less than a year!--- ouch!) So, I went to a nearby high-end salon that sells the Forma. WOW. There is an amazing difference between the Forma and the others. Effortless straightening, heats up instantly, and it doesn't snag my hair at all. Great shine, too!

(More customer reviews)The FHI iron works very well with natural, relaxed or weave hair. This iron keeps weave styles bouncy and fresh looking all the time. Also, it straightens natural hair perfectly! You have to literally wash your hair in order to get your curl pattern back! When curling relaxed hair or weave hair, the bump last for a while...almost like a roller set. I highly reccomend the FHI for anyone seeking straight edges around your sides and the nape of your neck (between relaxers) and curls with definition! I LOVE THIS IRON and I can't live without it. Be sure to ALWAYS use a good thermal heat protectant on the hair before curling...TTYL!!

Corioliss Classic Hair Straightener Flat Iron,New,Black Review

(More customer reviews)I've used a chi and maxi glide in the past and this one by far is the best!!! With a chi or maxi I would have to go over the same area of hair about 3 or 4 times for it to get straight and with the Corioliss I only have to run it though once, it's amazing. I have very thick stubborn wavy hair that used to take me an hour to an hour in a half to straighten and now in 15-20 minutes I'm done :) I just kind of wish I knew they sold it on Amazon before I spent $120 on it at the mall, but either way it's worth the price and like I said it's better than the Chi and better than Maxi Glide. The only down to it is that if you use it on the highest setting your hair kind of gets a burnt smell to it, but goes away after about 15 minutes and smells like your shampoo or products again. Definitly worth the money, the one at the mall does offer a 2 year warranty on it though.

Farouk Deep Brilliance Ceramic Hairstyling Flat Iron Mini .5" Review

(More customer reviews)Several years ago I started out using a cheap drugstore flat iron for my thick wavy hair. After talking to my stylist and my friends I got a 1½" Sedu and a 1" Solia flat iron for my long hair, and then my inverted bob (Posh Spice). They're pricey but you get what you pay for. I got nice SILKY STRAIGHT hair with those brands. Now with my boy haircut (Demi Moore in Ghost) I needed a narrower flat iron. After much research I finally bought this Farouk ½" mini. It's about 10 inches long and 1½ inch at its widest point.
Pros: narrow for short hair or bangs, quick heating with display light, adjustable temperature (140º - 400º), smooth ceramic surface means no pulling or catching, swivel cord, the tip stays cool enough so I can handle it, the two sides compress for better holding if I want to hold the ends and the price.
Cons: they sell out quickly, the directions are minimal. FYI - The Sedu and Solia manuals suggest around 340 - 350° for normal hair texture, less for bleached, damaged, fine hair and above that (370°) for coarse, thick, ethnic or otherwise resistant hair.
Get a good haircut, use a deep moisturizer once a week and you'll be good to go for a great price! Highly recommended.

(More customer reviews)I read that ceramic is the better kind so I bought this one. It was horrible. Where the plate is connected to the handle, kept on snagging my hair. It pulled out a lot of hair. Also, since they are "floating" plates it doesn't press down on the hair. So it didn't straighten my hair at all. And I just have a slight wave to my hair, so there is no reason for it to not work. It would just fall off of the hair unless I grabbed a huge chunk of hair (which was too much hair in it so it wouldn't straighten it still).

This is a detailer, allowing you to take very small sections of hair to straighten very close to the root. For the rest of your hair, a standard size iron is required. (Unless you have a short style). There is no temperature control, however I believe this is 400 Watts and is just right.

(More customer reviews)I bought the iTech Ceramic Tourmaline Flat Iron from Seattle beauty supply Ed Wyse. I had used the product two or three times when in a sizzle of smoke it just stopped working- while getting ready for a wedding no less. Appliances have never shorted out in my home the years we've lived here so assumed the product was defective. Because I had the flat iron just over 30 days Ed Wyse would not take it back but instead referred me to iTech support in California. The customer service person responded disinterestedly and told me to mail it back to them with a check for $15 dollars to mail me a new product. I told the rep that after sinking nearly $200 into the product I wasn't willing to spend an extra $30 and time on another flat-iron and could they waive the shipping at least one way. The customer service person was impatient, told me it wasn't his fault and my only option was to mail them the product and the check. He couldn't wait for me to get off the phone. I called Ed Wyse corporate office to see if they could help me out in getting behind their products for a long time customer. Sorry was the reply. I threw the barely used flat iron into the trash and am going to buy the ghd from Sephora to replace it, or the T3 from Norsdtrom, the King of Customer Service. In an economy where businesses are looking for customers I will not give iTech or Ed Wyse any more of my money.
