(More customer reviews)I purchased two InStylers for myself and my daughter. Within a month, mine would shut itself off while in use. Within the next month, my daughter's developed a groove in the barrel and would stop turning while she was using it. Both of our InStylers were puchased last Christmas. I bought them around November and of course by the time they developed problems, the warranty was long expired.
Maybe the company has made improvements in the product since then, but I would think long and hard before I spent money on this product. I would definitely not recommend an InStyler to anyone.

(More customer reviews)I have very dry, thick, curly hair and a lot of volume too. Every few months I have to relax my curl in order to keep it under control. I also live in the tropics where heat and a lot of humidity don't exactly help my hair remain frizz free. I was very skeptical when I first bought this product because I had tried many hair straighteners and all had given me poor results. Thank goodness that I was finally proven wrong! This product definitely does what it says it will do and is very affordable in comparison to other products on the market. I flatten my hair after I blow dry it and I have finally been able to tame my wild hair into soft, smooth, silky, straight hair. I have been getting plently of compliments but most importantly, I feel happy with my hair! I have recommended this product to friends and family and they have also acheived wonderful results. I recommend that you buy a deep conditioning treatment (Redken Heavy Cream) and leave it in your for 15 minutes with a self warming cap, rinse out and apply a heat protectant on your hair (Redken Heat Glide) before the process. Your hair will be fabulous!

(More customer reviews)I've been using a Chi iron for 5 years now and I must admit that they get the job done. My problem is that I live in Florida and the weather... well it's not the best weather for straight hair, especially if you're naturally curly. I lost my Chi iron a couple of months ago (the one I've had for years) so I decided to get the same one. We all know they are super expensive, so when I saw the cheap prices of $65 and so on I decided to buy it here. I got it within a couple of days from the day of purchase and it worked wonders... the first two months. I was straightening my hair for a date with my boyfriend when all of a sudden it TURNED OFF!! I figured it had over heated or something so I let it cool down. Nothing. My iron hasn't worked ever since and I have it sitting in my room,completely new, and useless!! I tried to contact the seller but he/she couldn't do anything about it. My recommendation: Make sure it has warranty!!! :P

I work in the Beauty industry and needed a curling iron for "touch ups" where I would not have access to power, and this little number really does the trick. Heats up very quickly and pretty hot I might add. I tried 2 other models by Conair that I would not waste my money on, but this one really does get hot enough to curl even "hard to curl" hair. Gets a thumbs up in my book! Will be great for traveling as well!

This one heats up to a higher temperature which helps the curls stay in longer (especially since my hair usually doesn't hold a curl). Still, with curling straight hair, I highly recommend spraying your hair with a light weight, strong-hold hairspray lightly before curling. Over all... love love LOVE this curler!

And her review of this particular model is that it is NOT worth the money we paid for it. She said she could get the same results from a $20 Revlon/Conair iron. This was very disappointing to me, as I believed, in this case, spending a little more would mean it was better. WRONG. My daughter has long, curly hair that is not too difficult to curl in the places she thinks she needs it...so that was not the problem. And I was surprised she gave it the review she did because she is kinda snob when it comes to things like this...always wanting the BEST made. This iron was NOT it! Very disappointing.

(More customer reviews)I loved this product as I was able to get some volume from my fine, thin hair. However, the end cap on the rotating barrel fell off while in use. The screw that holds it all together is inside the cap so even my handyman husband could not fix this. Fortunately, I purchased this from a company that gives refunds - no questions asked. I wouldn't buy this again. It is also easy to burn your head if your hair is short.

I purchased it after a friend waved my hair-- it works wonderfully on her thick hair and on my very thin hair! The only downside is to get the amazing look that stays in all day (and all night) you must wave in small sections/layers and use some holding product either before or after each section (i use suave spray gel and it does not get crinkly or crunchy!) Overall, a buy I dont regret! Doing small sections takes time but with practice it gets much much faster.

I think it is because I am over 45 and I have a cowlick. I tried setting my hair with velcro rollers,teasing, and all types of products. This is the answer. It lasts all day. My hair now looks thicker and you can't see scalp through it. It is very well made and nicely balanced. It stands on the counter without flipping over, it heats fast, and it is easy to use. I have never mastered a curling iron or blow drying with a round brush to add lift. I am thrilled with this.

I wanted to have that loose curl look without a lot of work and then I found the Conair 1 1/4" Sprirl Iron and I have to say I LOVE IT. It gives my hair that big loose curl and even without using any product on my hair my hair kept some body. I'm sure with a little styling product I will be able to keep more curl. I would recommend this product for someone looking to easily add some body to poker straigt hair.
