Hot Tools Professional 3/4" Brush Iron Review

I give this item one star because of lack of durability. It will get very hot very quickly. However, after about a year's use, the round black piece at the top of the brush breaks off and cannot be repaired. I have owned this brand of curling brush for more than six years and every year I must buy a new one because the tip breaks off. I currently have two of these and they are both broken. You are probably wondering why I keep buying it if I know the tip will break off. Well, when it works it is great and it gets as hot as I like. I have tried other brands in the past and haven't been satisfied with their heat level. I need to buy another curling iron brush, so, once again, I'll start searching for one with this much wattage. I hope to find another brand, because this is getting ridiculously expensive. Anyhow, be aware that you'll only be able to use this for about one year (the length of the warranty by the way). If that's okay with you, then go ahead and enjoy it while you can!

Conair Ceramic Curling Brush - 3/4" Review

Conair Ceramic Curling Brush - 3/4

VERY poorly designed, especially the permanent kick-stand which constantly hits me in the eye, face areas and my head. It can't be removed as it's part of the handle. The temperagure dial is located in the middle of the handle where my thumb rests so I was always inadvertently changing the heat setting. I used it 3 times and I'll never use it again.

Vidal Sassoon 3/4" Curling Brush Review

Vidal Sassoon 3/4" Curling Brush
I was very happy to receive this item as my old one was about six years old and had started to lose some of the "brush teeth".
However almost immediately it started to come apart. The rows of "brush teeth" slid off the end and wouldn't stay on. I expected better from Vidal Sassoon.
I would NOT recommend this product to anyone, let alone buy another one. Very disappointed!!

Helen of Troy 1" Pro Brush Iron 1517 Review

Helen of Troy 1 Pro Brush Iron 1517

Can't figure out why there are so few curling brushes out there - they are so much easier to use than the irons, especially for those like me who have stick-straight hair that slips through the irons. That said, the Helen of Troy brush is the only 1-inch barrel I can find out there, save for the ceramic one that is way too hot to handle and burns the hair too easily. The Helen of Troy does the job, just takes a few extra minutes of curling to perform on very straight hair. We need a curling brush that gets a few degrees hotter than the Helen of Troy (and an automatic shut-off!) and a few degrees cooler than the Inifinity by Conair. Are you listening, marketing departments???

Helen of Troy Super Mega 1-1/2" Professional Brush Iron Review

Helen of Troy Super Mega 1-1/2 Professional Brush Iron

Frankly, this is the only 1 1/2" barrel curling brush on the market from what I could find, so it's lucky it's pretty good quality. The barrel heats up to a nice, but not hair-scorching temperature and it heats fairly quickly. The plastic tip stays cool enough to touch, so styling is simple and the bristles are close enough together to make curling even my baby-fine locks possible.
The only major problem is what I consider a design flaw: the joint between the barrel and the handle isn't covered, which means if you're not extremely careful to keep your hair toward the tip of the barrel, it'll get caught--and it's painful. I invariably lose a few valuable strands a day, no matter how I try to prevent it.

Helen of Troy Professional Brush Iron Review

I am very pleased with my Helen of Troy mini curling brush! Especially since I haven't been able to find this size in any regular store. I have short and very fine hair and this model works extremely well for me. In fact I ordered several since they are so difficult to find. I hope Helen of Troy will continue to make this model as it suits my needs perfectly.
Thanks!
Marsha
