(More customer reviews)African American female. 29 years old. Northern VA climate. Chin-length hair is relaxed 4 times/year. I love Jilbere irons. In addition to this 1.5-in flat iron, I also have the 2-in flat iron, the 1-in curling iron, and the 1.5-in curling iron by Jilbere. By far the best results for the price. These irons get extremely hot. Before purchasing this iron today, my other 3 irons have been faithfully working for 4+ years. At different points in time I have used each iron daily. This iron works best on clean, dry hair. If you use styling products to flat iron your hair (serums, oils, spray), and set it to the highest heat settings, you will notice over time that build up will start to accumulate on the iron itself. I'm not sure if this will come off, but Jilbere does make a cleaning pad to address the buildup. Honestly, by the time buildup becomes a problem, you may have already used the iron for several years. I use this iron on the 26 or 28 heat setting with great results (no need to go all the way up to 30). The velvet exterior is helpful because the iron does get extremely hot. Great product. I am very happy with this purchase (as I knew I would be). I am considering purchasing the Jilbere root iron because I would like to relax my hair as few times as possible this year, and I am also considering purchasing the Jilbere steam straightener to try something "new".

(More customer reviews)I own a 0.5 inch Revlon ceramic flat iron, which I love, so I purchased this 2 inch ceramic flat iron based on that experience. This one has less sturdy casing, does not get as hot, and only has three settings - high, medium, or low. Overall, it does the job, but just not as well as I expected. I have very thick hair, so perhaps someone with less thick hair will have a better experience.

(More customer reviews)When I first received this flat iron, I noticed immediately that it was the Jose Eber Signature Series Flat Iron in the pink/bronze, not the Pro Series pink. I called Amazon Customer Service, who agreed to express ship me another one, which was again the incorrect flat iron. I will be returning them both. The flat iron Amazon sends is the Signature Series, a lighter pink color with bronze plates, and is temperature-adjustable. It is also NOT dual-voltage as is stated in the product description. I bought this to take on a trip to Italy, but I will be using my cheaper Zoe flat iron since it is in fact dual-voltage. I have always been a loyal CHI flat iron user, but they do not come in dual-voltage and will blow fuses and ruin the flat iron if you use them overseas with the proper converters and adapters, so I was hoping this would at least equal the efficiency of my CHI. It is slow to heat and doesn't do the best job straightening and de-frizzing hair. Not a horrible iron for someone with normal hair and only using it here in the US, but I have thicker hair and am traveling for three months, and this will not work for me. Just be aware that you will be receiving the Signature Series, not the Pro series (yes, there is a difference).

This straighter will leave your hair silky soft, shiny and straight until it's washed. I love the versatality of the product because it also flips and curls hair. The heat setting knob is a little hard to get to because it's tiny but overall I love this straightener!

(More customer reviews)I shopped around on Amazon before buying this one because I had specific product requirements: ceramic hotplates, rounded edges so it wouldn't catch and tug/tear my hair, multiple heat settings and not overpriced. This one has all these features and it came with free shipping. So far I have not had any problems with it, it does exactly what it advertises and it makes my hair look great - I have thin hair but it has a lot of body/wave to it and this iron makes it sleek and it will stay for most of the day. Because my hair is thin I don't have the heat setting too high so I don't toast it, you can set it really hot, so if I was going out in the evening it only takes a couple of minutes to touch up. This thing heats up real fast too.
