It has lasted 2 and 1/2 years so far, and it is only now starting to lose it's heating power. On the highest setting, it is no longer hot enough, but it has outlasted other flat irons by leaps and bounds. The average flat iron that I've purchased has lasted about 1 year. I usually spend between $50 and $100 on a flat iron, and this is priced reasonably and works great.
