(More customer reviews)After years of struggling with flat irons that gave me limp, messy results, I finally found a tool that has the best of both worlds--Perfect curls, fabulous flat ironing. It was just like my hair stylist had come for a visit. However, (and this is why it gets a three...) when this gets too hot, the handle can hardly be picked up. A temp turning down can fix this. But as a woman with full, thick hair, a lower heat setting will not curl the hair. On top of that, there is the lock button. Used, moved, and rattled enough times, it will break. I have had two of these irons, by the way. The first got knocked over on accident (while locked) by my ex-boyfriend. The second one just recently came apart. Since I love this tool, one could assume I treated it like a scoop of soft ice cream. But alas through regular use, this lock mechanism also came apart. Now, I have a triple struggle--trying not to burn myself on the handle, keeping the curling iron shut when I want to curl only, and deciding whether or not to keep on buying these because I love them.
As much as I love hot tools, this is really wearing a hole in my pocket.
