(More customer reviews)This curling iron gives a great bouncy curl and a very different look than a typical curling iron. That being said this product needs lots of improvement. If you curl with the 'hair guide' cover that comes to help keep the hair from sliding, it hardly works so it only works without it. My hair is silky and curls well and it does not work with that on top. Second, the temperature turner is the worst. THere is nothing that actually clicks the actual temperature into place. Meaning, if you want to use 350 because your hair is thinner, it doesn't lock it into that temperature on the product. THe wheel is so loose and when you use the iron, your fingers touch the wheel and even with a light touch it can move it to 450 and you wouldn't even know. This happened to me and that temp is way to hot for my hair so it's a really big pain. The spring clamp is not tight, it's lose so you can hardly put any hair in it and have to be careful it doesn't slip out, so if you don't have patience to deal with all this do not get it. Once you actually get to use it the curls are beautiful like I said. My normal curling iron takes me 10 mins to do my hair (I have very long hair). But this one can take up to 20, so I'll now use it for special occasions. If they fix the suggestions above, it can be a great product., it really helps give that bounce on the top which normal curlers don't give.

(More customer reviews)The concept is good but the finished product needs more work. Not enough nylon teeth and therefor the metal teeth touch your scalp and burn you. The amount of both the metal and nylon teeth have to be exactly doubled, then you will have the perfect curling brush. I've always loved curling brushes and have used them for many, many years and will never use a regular curling iron ...specifically for the same reason that this one is not quite complete. It burns the scalp!
So CONAIR, get back to work and finish designing this thing so I can get a new one.....I'm waiting!!!!

(More customer reviews)this is a great iron for curls & spiral curling. I have very fine hair. There has been NO damage to my hair in 6 months and I use x2/week. I also use heat protect-chi serum. You can adjust the temperature for type of hair. I use 350-ish very quick no need to hold hair in iron longer than 2-3 seconds. results are smooth and shine to hair.
This is NOT the same iron you find in Sally's... although they have one that appears to be the same.

TRESemme Thermal Creations Curl Activator Spray Hair Sprays Review

(More customer reviews)I will start off by saying I do not use this as directed on the bottle. The suggest you spray on dry hair and blow dry quickly and brush through hair to remove stickiness and then to curl sections with a curling iron. It also says to use as a finishing spray to combat frizz. They state that this product is great for hair that normally doesnt hold a curl but unfortunatly I cannot review from that stand point because my hair is naturally pretty curly. I do not use a curling iron and only manipulate my curls(with rollers) on special occasions. I purchased this when looking for a heat protectant when I use my diffuser and next to the bottle of Tresemme Heat Tamer I saw this bottle. It automatically caught my attention even when I read the suggested uses because I like to experiment with different products, using them in many different ways to find the best stuff for my hair. With the Tresemme Thermal Creations Curl Activator, I simply sprayed it all over my hair making sure to get all the sections ( I use herbal essence conditioner as a leave in and then garnier fructis pure smoothing cream and curl shaping spray gel first ). This bottle has an odd looking dispenser that I normally see on volumizing sprays that helps you distribute it pretty evenly because you know the spray is going where you want it. At this point it made my wet hair feel sticky and a little stiff(which I HATEE) but that goes away soon enough. I blow dry with a diffuser for about 5 minutes and that is enough for the stickiness to go away but some sections seemed to stay stiffer than others. After trying the same routine again with less of this spray I noticed that the stiffness can be eliminated entirely. I also tried using this in my 2nd day hair routine and it really defined my curls and added some extra volume that I normally dont experience on days when I don't rinse and condition. I would not suggest using this as a finishing spray unless you enjoy sticky, stiff and matted hair, because without the heat it just sits on top of your hair causing an un-cool mess.

She had requested a good curling iron with a range of heat settings. Since I have one like it and love it, I knew she would like it also. In fact, she likes it so well that she also wants one with a 1 inch or 1/1/4 inch barrel for larger curls. I love the curling iron because of the high heat settings (380 degrees works for me), and also the design and placement of the controls.
It is a great product with great features!

(More customer reviews)I was a little hesitant to purchase this item since there were no reviews for it, but I'm glad I did! It does just what it's supposed to do: holds your hot styling appliances while you style your hair so that they remain off of the countertop and within easy reach while styling your hair.
It has suction cups on the bottom that hold it in place on the counter so it doesn't slide around. It really does stay in place, even when moving a tool in and out of it.
This device has a little metal clip that you can flip over to hold curling irons or wands, and flip up to hold larger flat irons. I've used it so far with my 1" flat iron, my 19mm curling wand, and my 1 1/2" curling iron, and it works great with all three. It seems like it is wide enough to hold up to a 2" flat iron.
Also, just be warned that the box says that you shouldn't have your hot tools up to more than 400 degrees when using this.
I like this so much and the price is so great that I might pick up a second one since I like to flat iron my bangs when I curl my hair.

One thing: Helen of Troy is owned by Hot Tools (or vice versa), although the packaging is different. So we searched high and low for Helen of Troy specifically, and only found Hot Tools. I think they they are both the same thing, hope that helps someone out there. She seems happy with it after a couple weeks of use.

When I found the Helen of Troy marcel handle curling iron again, I bought two of them. The silver barrel is not as harsh on my hair as the gold barrels are.
Marcel handles make it easier for me to swing the curl the way I want it to swing. I have but one regret, I didn't get it in a larger size.
