(More customer reviews)I researched half a day online for the best affordable flat iron and this is a winner.
It gets very hot quickly and you just glide your hair through - you don't even have to do it slowly (provided you use small segments of hair). And, the shine it creates in my hair is amazing.
These plates are solid ceramic, not just ceramic-coated, so it distributes heat evenly.
I have very coarse, wavy, frizzy hair. I was resigned to just cut my hair all off until I came across this flat iron.
I never thought I'd say this but, I LOVE my hair now.

(More customer reviews)I purchased this flat iron at a local beauty supply store the other day. I used it on my daughter's thick and coarse hair, and I was amazed at how well it worked. Her hair was soft and shiny after use. I used it at the 40 setting. The highest is 50.
I would highly recommend it for African Americans hair!!

(More customer reviews)I love how easy this is to travel with and store. It heats up in seconds and maintains heat throughout use. The best part is being able to straighten all of my hair since it gets close & personal with my scalp (having short hair none of my larger straightners work for me).
Note of caution: Be careful using it around children--the plate gets really hot and could burn you if you're not careful.
